Publication Ethics

The Journal of Recent Advances in Medicine requires ethical practices in both human or animal experiments and will not consider any manuscript that is ethically unacceptable.

A statement on ethics committee permission and ethical practices must be included in all research articles in the section of material and methods

Ethical approval: of the study protocol from Research Ethics Committee of the institute in which the research is conducted is essential.

Informed Consent: Authors reporting the results of studies involving human subjects, human-derived materials or human medical records must have obtained an informed written consent from the subjects of the study. Confidentiality of participants must be ensured and not to mention the name initial or hospital number Also in case of documents for clinical photographs there is a requirement for the patient’s Consent. Where all clinical photographs submitted to The Journal of Recent advances in Medicine ( JRAM) that permit identification of the patient in any way must be accompanied by a signed statement from the patient or guardian granting permission for publication of the photographs for educational purposes. In the case of a patient who is deceased, a written permission must be provided by the patient’s next of kin. It is not acceptable to place bars over the patient’s features, but in cases where permissions are unobtainable, the photographs must be very tightly cropped to the feature being displayed. If identification is still possible after cropping the JRAM cannot use the photograph. All submissions with clinical photographs must adhere to this policy and submit the proper documentation along with the manuscript otherwise the submission cannot be accepted.

In case of studies carried out on animals, authors should indicate the use of the institution or national research council’s guide for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed. Experimental procedures carried out on animals should be as humane as possible describing methods of anesthesia or analgesics used

Copyright form: Each author must sign a statement transferring copyright ownership to the Journal of Recent Advances in Medicine. The journal has the right to publish the accepted article in any media print, electronic or any other form. Copyright transfer forms are available online at the journal’s web site. It is a mandatory requirement.to be signed (scanned signature) by the corresponding author on behalf of the other authors.

Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any conflict of interest they may have with the publication of the manuscript or an institution or product that is mentioned in the study and /or is important to outcome of the study presented, this has to be declared at the time of submission of the manuscript. Reviewers and associate editors should disclose to the chief editor any relationships causing conflicts of interest to the manuscript under review.

Permissions to Reproduce Previously Published Material: JRAM requires you to send the journal copies of permission to reproduce material (such as illustrations) from the copyright holder of previously published material. Articles cannot be published without these permissions.

Redundant or Duplicate Publication: We  ask the authors to confirm that the paper has not been published in its current form or a substantially similar form (in print or electronically, including on website), that it has not been accepted for publication elsewhere and that it is not under consideration for another publication. If you are in doubt (particularly in case of material that you have posted on a website), we ask you to proceed with your submission but to include a copy of the relevant previously published work or work under consideration by other journals. In the standard covering letter to the editors, draw attention to any published work that involves the same patients or subjects of the present paper.

Plagiarism: Authors must follow the accepted procedures and guidelines when reproducing texts tables or figures from a different source as it is considered to be a serious concern to the journal. Before submission authors must apply an official similarity check, after which JRAM will apply a similarity check on submitted manuscripts, JRAM uses Ithenticate software to detect plagiarism. JRAM permits a similarity index which is not to exceed 20%. The acceptable limit for similarity of a text from a single source is not to exceed 3%. If similarity level is above stated numbers it is returned to author for paraphrasing and resubmission,an official Plagiarism clearance certificate should be submitted at time of online re-submission. The editorial office will check again plagiarism (similarity check) for the re-submission and if plagiarism is still unaccepted, immediate rejection will be sent to authors. Editors have the total right for immediate article rejection if plagiarism clearance is found in a percent exceeding the journal’s policy.
